Here is Roberto. My 1982 1500.

With his suspect build quality l like to think of my Bertone as "hand crafted" That way things like rattles and falling off trim that would annoy me in my mk2 Golf don't.

With my 500 Pop

After 2 weeks I broke him.

When I bought him.

He also has an occasional cheeky wink. It's not broken as such so I won't fix it. I've also been told not to fix it too. He didn't do this when I went to look at him. It was only driving home that he started it. The vendor told me later that he occasionally does this.

My 1981 X1/9, took the picture on the 29th of December 2013. Last time we are allowed by law to drive the car in December. Until the car is 40 years…

So you have to wait 7 years to drive your car again?? I don't quite understand that.

Driving...

No, I think in his country they can't drive some type of cars over the winter unless they are really old.

What springs are you running? And if they're cut, how many coils did you remove? Love the stance of your car.

Thanks! The stance on this car was achieved with IAP lowering springs at full height in back and a full coil removed for the fronts (they are designed to maintain the factory nose up stance). Also 205/60 rear and 185/60 front tires.

I've done similar stance using factory rear springs in front with 1.5 coils removed (and then re-flatenned)

25 or older cars were tax free in the netherlands. As a new law, we can pay a discounted tax (25% of year tax), but then we arent allowed to drive the car in winter. If we want it to drive in winter we have to pay full tax, until the car is 40 years old, than we don't have to pay tax again.

Store the picture on a site like photobucket or imageshack. Then copy the image link from that site to your post on this site, or insert the direct link to your post after clicking on the "insert image" button at the top of the text window.

center caps

Really like your wheel centers. Where did you get them or how did you make them?

I have a friend in the vinyl sign business. He used his plotter and some scrap red and silver 3M heat activated wrap vinyl to cut the red circles and FIAT script, then put them together. he said it would last much longer than printing them.

Stuck, heated and clear coated them onto a set of crusty yellowed original center caps. Also did smaller version for the front and rear badges so they match.

Not sure how long it'll last but good so far and price was right (free).

Couldn't cost much he maybe had an hour into the whole deal

OTTO

Birdy: love that wink - quirky in a good way. i'd keep it if mine did that. :)

So....let me introduce OTTO:

Not a great pic - was taken just after I bought him. He's been stuck in the garage ever since, as the engine has needed a lot of attention. However, I've been working on him almost every weekend since the beginning of January and have made good progress - hoping to take him out for a spin in April.

Will take some better pictures then. Note.....I know the decals are very wrong (!!) as the previous owner wasn't able to source replica special series decals when she had it re-sprayed.....however, I have managed to source some and will be changing them back to the original look as soon as he's drivable. :D
