My Project : Fiat X1/9 "Lido"

Hope you fare well with all the flooding.

Just read through your Abarth thread, very nice work there!

Must be interesting sourcing parts, I assume most come from overseas.

Are you going to restore that 500 sitting in some of the Abarth photos as well?

Thank you, almost parts came from overseas, mostly eBay.
For Fiat 500, I already sold it for the budget of this Lido... Sad but true. :wink2:

Tuned engine test... Better. :)
She runs OK now. Completed this restore-stage.

Fully restoration will be start after Fiat 850 and Fiat 128 done. :sun:

A Lido, an 850 and a 128?

wow that's some work you've got facing you. I'm really very happy a Lido is being saved, due to its rarity. I would like to see one with Daytonas on it though, even if not stock.

Good luck with the restoration!!!

What year/type 850 do you have?

Thank you, mine is 1965 Fiat 850 Berlina. :italia:
I prefer Cromodora CD66, but sometimes may wear Daytona.

Restart the project with stripping.

With the Lombardi 850 Grand Prix.

You've got yourself a very well known car there Toon

If I could find my copy of Phil Ward's X1/9 book I'm sure it's in.
I certainly featured it in '94 for !icsunonove! when editor in the UK.

Rare and pretty.

Sure looks like it, Pottsy.....!

.....If I could find my copy of Phil Ward's X1/9 book I'm sure it's in......

....on page 40! "Owned, at the time of writing, by Geoff Oliver of London's X1/9 Centre"

Yer memry ain't bad fer an ol' fart, matey!! :fart:

cheers, Ian - NZ

I just noticed that your two X1/9s are right hand drive!

I did not know Thailand drove on the left, but Wikipedia says it is because of the Brisitsh influence from back in the day.

Good luck with your X1/9 project. Lots of meticulous work removing paint with a heat gun, it must mean that the body panels of the X1/9 are thick enough to resist warping under the heat.
