Aux Pulley Bolt

I am having trouble torquing my auxiliary shat pulley bolt. It keeps slipping even though the timing belt is tensioned. The method that is described in the service manual is to tighten it with the timing belt in place.
Is there another way?

If your Aux Pulley is steel....

Throw a chain wrench around it. If you are woried about scarring you can wrap it a couple of times with some emory cloth.

If its resin.....purchase an oil filter wrench that will fit around it and tighten away!

Use some Blue Threadlocker on the bolt too.

Good Luck!

I don't like doing it with the belt on.
I keep an old cam belt handy for this purpose - especially doing the cam pulley. A large pair of slip pliers will hold it nicely.

A rubber strap wrench will also work in a pinch.
