Hello xwebs

also be sure the car can not roll . As soon as you pick up one drive wheel, the car can roll even if it is in gear (picking up one drive wheel) disables the put it in gear to stop it from rolling.

Anything to look for when inspecting the CV joint to see if I need to replace it along with the boot?

Yes, the CV joint screws are more than likely loose.

These are M8x45mm long, grade 12.9 socket head cap screws torqued to about 25-20 ft/lb.

Re-torque all of them using a known accurate torque wrench and good quality 6mm hex bit.

Check the screws-nuts on the lower mount at the gear box. Two M8-13mm hex head screws from the bottom. two of the same on the side of the gear box and one M8-13mm nut.

Check the special bolt(special 13mm hex) and prevailing torque nut (M6-10mm hex) at the shift coupler into the gear box.
