Weber 34DATR + 1500 Euro Manifold + Ramflow filter. $375

Agnelli

True Classic
The carb was installed new by prior owner of my current X. I sourced the better than US spec Euro manifold to improve flow, which made for an observable power increase, This unit has the largest factory ports, well documented on this forum.

Taken off my well running 1500. Plug and play. With heat shield, and air filter.

These carbs are not the easiest to source and tend to be costly when available. Same with the manifold.

Perhaps your New Years resolution might be higher flow induction?

Could you please tell us which 34 DATR you have? There are several variations. Here's a pic of where you can find the information.

Do you know which car your carb came from?

Hi, Would you mind looking at he the numbers on the body on each venturi. These are the choke sizes in mm.

So far I have the following info.
Choke Sizes Main Fuel Jet Sizes
34 DAT 11/251
23 / 27
4,00 / 4,00
107 / 115
34 DAT 28 5K 350
24 / 27
115/130
34 DATR 1/250
25 / 27
120 / 150
34 DATR 2/250
25 / 27
120 / 150
32 DATR 3/250
22
110 / 115
34 DATR 4/250
25 / 27
120 / 130-

I received the 34 DATR 7/250 7J pictured above recently (thanks Cliff!), and it had been molested so I don't know if these were the as-installed jets, but the main chokes were marked as 25 / 27.
Jets as I received it;
Primary side: Idle - 47, AC - 160, Main - 110, E-tube - F30, Aux booster - 4.
Secondary side: Idle - 70, AC - 150, Main - 135, E-tube - F30, Aux booster - 4.
Squirter - 40-4', needle/seat 175. The idle screw was 3 1/2 turns out.
One thing I like about this carb is that the throttle shafts were milled flat. Not all 34 DATR's I've seen have this

I have no idea what car this was original installed on, but I am curious.

Sorry for drifting your FS post off a bit Jim...

I'm still not really sure what any of those numbers mean or do but does that mean that the carb is crap Mike? If so, sorry for that. It was in a box with a few Webers that came with our original parts car. Hopefully whatever you can use on it is still worth the shipping costs though?

No Cliff, I think this is the "good one"! It's not caca, it just needed a few parts. Thanks.

The 34 DATR 7/250 is the euro 1500 carb and your sizes look 'standard' apart from the slightly bigger main jets, which is not an uncommon mod. In the wiki specs https://xwebforums.com/wiki/index.php?title=StockJettings I think it's incorrectly listed as 34 DATR 7/270 and I did add a note to this effect a few years back (!) but maybe Ulix can confirm as I'm not aware there was a different carb supplied between UK and Germany cars?

8/252 L inscribed on the base.
From a quick google, the 8/252 was standard on the Lancia Delta 1500 so not a million miles away from the X. Oddly fiatplus lists it as a Montecarlo, but pretty sure they were 4/200, 4/250 or 4/150

The german Fiat spec sheet lists a 7/250.
But the venturis are smaller than what Mike posted, at 23/26.
Main jets 107 and 130.

Could someone correct the typo in the wiki and possible add venturi sizes as well?
From a performance standpoint, that would be the most important datum, as they can‘t be changed unlike the jets.

Doesn’t surprise me. The prior owner had an affinity and sources for Lancia parts. Engine block it came with was an NOS 1500 Lancia Prisma. I peered into the bores from the carb top holding open the chokes and could not observe venturi markings. I can tell you visually one Venturi is larger than the other, and that this carb is very linear as you accelerate into the secondary.

venturi size is on the outside of the carb, the number is in a circle. Internal venturi numbers are probably only on carbs with removable venturies.

It's not easy to see the choke sizes that are cast onto the carb body because all that auto choke paraphernalia is in the way. If you look at the side of the carb that the throttle linkage attaches to you might be able to make it out.
It's at the arrow...

Thanks Mike. New owner of the setup just left and took a look at it (he knew where to look). I recall he said 23/27, but we had a long conversation after that about engines, pistons and transaxles so it's possible my brain faded.
