Got a new Steering Wheel

barefoot

Daily Driver
I have just been over to my daughters in Orlando and bought a new steering wheel for my Lido. The new one I had recovered in black/white leather was smaller than original so I could not see all the gauges and with having the wider tyres on it was very heavy when turning the lock when parking etc. I can now see all the gauges and being a bigger wheel it has made the parking a little bit easier. It also did not have the correct boss so it didn't cancel the indicators and I kept driving around with them on! I bought the right boss from these people off Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110799370638?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 And the wheel from Momo in the USA I hadn't seen one like this before in the UK and I am really pleased with it as it has the retro look of the era and it has white stitching that goes with my interior. The white interior looks gorgeous:excited::italia::heart::shock2: but Holy Cow, Batman, it must be murder to live with!

But I like both steering wheels!

That looks interesting how big a job are they to fit?
have to take struts off so a bit of work, I don't have them, never really felt the need to be honest, keep tires near 30psi and I don't notice hard steering at parking lot speed (stock wheel, 185/60 13 tires)

My steering is pretty heavy. I fancy one of these Momo Retro steering wheels, but hard to locate in the UK.

I have the steering pivots, but I also have CD30 Abarth wheels with 7mm offset. Needs an alignment, me thinks!

I love that Lido. Great job!

Mickey

Looks great...

I think it looks great, an improvement over the old wheel. Something about the lines and simplicity of it. Good find.
