mike m from Oregon left this morning after dropping off the most badass steel flaired x I have ever seen!!
he brought it down on a road trip and dropped it off for me. better than driving to Montana...no offense to parties involved..
He said that it was pared down to 1600 pounds, but I think it is more at 1400. if I can pick up the car by the flair and move the ass end(sans motor/trans) and shift it in the garage to fit...well it is hella light.
I will try to keep those interested on the progress on the forum, but like a new baby crap gets pretty old and it is just blah... blah... blah.

Did nt know he would part with that car, it is cool and the flares Mike did are REALLY NICE. Did you get the gold wheels on it too?

yes, I did get the wheels, spare slicks, and the mikunis, and the stroker motor, plus a truck full of spare parts. how did I get so lucky????
dunno, but mike is the real deal when it comes to explaining his vision of what he wanted to do and understanding my vision of what it will be.
he is happy as all be go to hell!!
to all you young pups out there, that means he knows that he has left it where it will be pampered and built as he wanted with my touch.
he was to leave tue morning, but took the time to dig through all the stuff and explain what were why and left about 2:00 way behind schedule.

Sweet sorrow...

T’was a painful realization a few months ago.
That mobility limitations make it impossible
to continue trackday activities I’ve enjoyed for 42 years.
And therefore, completion of RaceX became zero priority.
Aim to handoff at least 4 more Fiats in days to come.

Feeling blessed to find capable Fiat Fan to continue the process.
The list of highpro goodies is staggering.
Trailering the car 600 miles brought much commentary along the journey.

I do plan on selling the slicks(8) and with the revolutions I do have a set of widened steelies that I won't need if interested.

Won't be totally out of track events,
just those that require being on my feet all day.
Campaigning a radical race machine is also more taxing physically,
so I'll return to my '70s roots of just enjoying street cars on track.

Gettin' old is a bitch, ain't it... I know the feeling all too well. Sometimes the alternative looks better... Don't get me wrong though... I still plan to wreak havoc with friends and family for a long time to come.

Great work here Middlestead... (or is it Middelstead?) Sorry if I got that wrong and I'm sure Moisa will do a great job finishing it. Sure would like to see a set of CA plates on it though... (hint-hint-hint!)

I know the s key is closer to the a key, hence the blurb.
don't feel bad papa, hardly anyone can pronounce it correctly anyway:shh:
and the car will have ca. plates as soon as I get through to dmv and find out what the hell they need. all day today on the phone wasting 3 phone batteries and a "call back" 4 hours later and hung up on!!

Ain't the age of my chassis...

...it's the miles and collision damage.
Bent the frame last summer, in same place I bent it decades ago.
Now permanently kinked...I go sideways down the road.

Complicated by insurance company pretending to do healthcare.
Like insuring a Ferrari with Earl Scheib Insurance.
Don't bend the Ferrari, and no harm.

Glad to hear the Camaro will be coming out of hiding! I love our Xs as you know, but I also love that Camaro. As soon as its ready for a street test, you have to let me know, that's something even Sandy would get excited over :)
