Congrats on your purchase, it looks like you have a very nice car! The '88 were very different from the '74s (and other years too!). Yours is a good example of how the '88 were sold.
If it were mine I would keep it as original as possible. Of course that doesn't mean you can't change wheels and even the air filter, I would just keep the original parts to return it to factory - if desired.
It would be nice to see your car next to an original '74.

This has got to be the FIRST Corsa Kit I've seen...
that was not body-colored.
I never noticed the grille was different either... combined with the elephant ears for a very smooth transition. I have a new appreciation for the kit after looking at this car. Congrats!
