Steel wheel paint

True Classic
Does anyone know of a "rattle can" silver paint,e.g. Rustoleum. That closely resembles the factory steel wheel silver paint? Thanks for any recommendation.

Is this a question to SET ME UP for ridicule?

HA!

DUPLICOLOR WHEEL PAINT comes in a variety of colors and is difficult to tell from "factory" if the wheels are prepped properly...or even reasonably.

Here is the RIGHT way to do it... for about $150 bucks...

But you can also do it (especially if you have steel or factory painted wheels) by eliminating steps 2 -7 and 9 as the narrator points out during the last few seconds of the video... for about $15 - $20 bucks.

I've personally used their products for probably 20 or 25 years. Once I started repainting a factory plastic Honda wheel cover and halfway through I could not tell where I started or finished! It looked EXACTLY like the other three! I went ahead and painted them all anyway as money ($6) is no object to me...

Hey, it dries fast and like the video says you can spend thousands elsewhere. I guarantee you'll be happy with the results!

Oh... BTW, Rustolium is for LAWN furniture...

Paint

Sorry Papa Tony, no ridicule intended. Bought some steel wheels for storage and they had been previously painted white. I can't subject the '74 to ridicule during winter storage while the mille miglia wheels are restored this winter.

HA! Its not you... its me!

Outside of painting an entire car... I recommended Duplicolor paints for almost everything!

Kinda like Redline and Meguiars products... they do EXACTLY what they say they'll do, and do it well!

I should get a commission from them ans well as Harbor Freight!

But alas, I stand corrected... Looky here and read the attributes!

Krylon Dull Aluminum

Not sure if that color still exists, but it was a dead on match for the wheels on '79 vintage Fiats back in the day.
