New X-1/9 based on Miata (targa)?

So, if Fiat could use the MX-5 to relaunch the 124 Spider, and then Mazda makes a targa version, can an X-1/9 be coming?
of course there is still that mid-engine thing...
And it's not as much of a wedge as it should be...

Even IF they were to build a NEW X1/9... It could never hold a candle to the one I currently care for.
