What is this for?

Last night as we were loading something in the front trunk my wife pointed to something on the firewall side of the trunk and said "what's that for?". I was embarrassed to tell her I had no idea! Both my '83 and '85 X's have it but I don't remember it on my 74 X.

Can someone tell me its purpose so I can regain my "smart guy" status with my wife?

Large window washer tank

That appears to be the holder for the large window washer tank in the frunk. At least that is what is sitting in a similar bracket in my 85. There is a plastic tab on the tank that rests in the bracket.

Jim is right. It is to support the windshield washer reservoir.

Geez Ed... yur such a dummy~! I've never...

asked stupid questions like that... especially when I installed a BLANK SPARE connector to my Hazard Flasher switch and couldn't get my directionals to work correctly for 3 weeks... or the 7 years my car lay dormant because I didn't know I had an access panel to swap out the water pump... HA! And I could go on and on and on!

BTW... I don't have that bracket on my '79 either.
