Rear trunk floor rust.

Does anybody know of a repair panel for the rear trunk floor? It looks like Mac's black X could use a new floor in the trunk as well as some other bits as well.

Thanks

Tag MIKEMO90 and ask him to cut out a panel for ya...

Better take some pictures and measurements and tell him what you want.

Give him my regards...

Above the muffler

If you talking about the floor above the muffler it does have a history of rotting out. I replace mine with a sheet of stainless and the problem is solved forever. It seems to be a real problem on the 74's maybe because of the somewhat sealed in rear grill as opposed to the later more open rear grills. I think it traps heat which gets to the floor above the muffler. Cut the whole floor out and weld in a sheet of stainless.

Sadly the boot floor is made to order so can take a while, but the Inner boot floor quarters I have in stock.

All the best

Yes the boot floor is what I need but I'm afraid the cost to get one over here is going to be a bit high, It's an excuse to buy more tools so I can make it myself. What would the shipping be to the us?

what I did...

if it's just the trunk floor, any sheet metal place can make one- it's almost perfectly "square".....I measured mine and found a sheet metal guy, made it for like 30 bucks. Just made a flat pan, with a 3/8" flange around it
Guy's making me a stainless fan shroud now for like 25 bucks:grin:

If I just go with a flat pan I can make that myself I have a sheet metal break, I just can't form the stiffening ribs. but an air planishing hammer or a bead roller and some custom dies could fix that.

Shipping to the USA

To Washougal, you would be looking at about £56 using a carrier like UPS. While they are not that heavy (approx. 6kg when packed) they are an odd size! :)
