X1/9... spider?

Came across this interesting creation when I was out running errands. It actually doesn't look half bad, in a TVR convertible sort of way.

I spoke to the mechanic who owns it and it could be bought for $1000, though he says it needs a new computer for it to run? It's not in bad shape, with a rust free body and a half decent interior.

there was a company

that had a kit for it. there are ads around if you search hard enough. I also did this on my own. it was pretty cool to drive around, getting stronger sounds and smells from the engine. I liked the sound enough to deal with the smells, my girlfriend? not so much. too loud and smelly for her.
