New mid engine

If this is so, then it's the death knell for sure for the brand and make. What's GM afraid of Chrysler/Fiat invasion of Italian muscle? HA!

Yep... as Greg in NH said... the GT40 or whatever from...

Ford is the biggest competition.

The Mopar Viper is so much more refined since my good friend Sergio Marcchione of Fiat took over... but the Viper is still really a handful like a bucking bronco... with many "kills" under its belt!

As for ME... I think I'll wait for the C8 Spider version. Corvette Roadsters usually come out after the initial production... Or maybe I'll just keep the X1/9 instead. I can't seen to find a place to go 202 mph anyway...

corvette

motor trend had a rear engine concept corvette featured in 73.
tornado transaxle and engine and it looked more like a pantara, but that was the styling in the day.
it's about time for gm. to try and catch up to Chrysler and fiat.
there was this one guy who did a rear engine 69 Camaro....
sweet!!

Why Mess With Success?

The new Z06 with the Z07 package is such a fantastic performer, why bother going to mid-engine. Mid-engine means less volume/interest and much bigger price tag. A new Ford GT will be limited production and north of 200K. For 90K the Z06 will probably be just as fast.
Stick with what you do best, GM.
