'85 and '83
Since acquiring and rebuilding my second X1/9, I now have too many cars for my three car garage so two are always being shuffled outside.
I keep the X's under cover so I am always looking for good cover alternatives as most the reasonably priced covers sold on eBay are simply crap and don't last very long under the Austin sun.
Recently a friend of mine who is a Porsche aficionado asked me if I wanted the cover from a Porsche Boxster he had sold. I told him I would love to have it if it fit my X's. I took it home and was pleasantly surprised to find it not only fit, it fit much better that the garbage "uni-covers" I had bought. Mirror bags line up nicely and the overall size while a tad large, still offers a secure and weather free fit.
Long story short - Porsche Boxster covers fit X1/9's!
The only downside is that I have to stare at a Porsche logo everyday.
