sjmst,
My worry would be the weight. My original stock sun visors are too old for them.
You have to take in consideration the age of your sun visors and the added weight of the leather covers plus the Velcro.
Not trying to swing you from purchasing them but just want to make sure they will work with the old sun visors prior to purchasing them.

Thanks, that was my worry exactly

My sun visors can definitely use a refresh after 34 years. I have read not so good reviews from one of our vendors, particularly for fitment . I would agree with the weight factor, not sure mine could tighten enough to compensate. Been debating having them redone with fresh new vinyl just like OEM.

Anyone know what's inside them? Cardboard sheet, plastic? Can't be that difficult to retro fit them. Just a thought. Cheers,

Damien

I had my visors remade in leather and they are heavier for certain. I'm able to keep the hinges tight enough that they stay in place although the original very light visors definitely place a smaller load on the hinges.

Sun Visor Rebuild

Damien,

I recently rebuilt my passenger side sun visor so I can answer your question about "what's inside them".

I thought my full response would be better suited for Workshop Forum so I will post the rebuild with pictures there shortly.

The quick answer is: a lot of deteriorated foam and crud!

I used these guys - it worked out perfectly although here's what you have to consider:

http://www.autosunvisors.com/

- they use edging, looks OK but not like stock
- you won't get a passenger side mirror, at least not when I had mine done
- it's a little thicker than original, but it clears the hinges perfectly - no issues.

The service was great, I am happy with the product. I don't have pics of them installed, but I can certainly do so. Here's a link to my post in 2013. So far, awesome.. they're holding up well, and the hinges work as they should. I don't care that I don't have a mirror.

I highly recommend these guys, it was reasonably priced. :)

I also used these guys and agree with Myron's fdbk. They are heavier than stock but thus far my hinges are hiding up well.

I have't used them either but would... LOOK AT THIS:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RED-STITCHI...990471?hash=item51b90d0a07:g:40sAAOxycmBS35mQ

They make these dash covers for a plethora of cars and it would run 1200 bucks for JUST DASHES and about $1400 from Henk with shipping.

Henk does great work and they are worth the money... but a lot of us do great work also and you could save a grand as well.

MORE-MORE-MORE!

JF Customs also does door panels, gators, side trim for consoles, side post trim, glove boxes and a few others but NO Seat Upholstery that I can find.

I bet a call or email might give him a nudge...
