1992 was when Saratoga Sunroof Company (aka Ferrigan-O'Brien Inc.) of Clifton Park, NY relocated to North Carolina.
So that would be the timeframe the last X1/9 tops were made.
When they relocated to NC they continued making tops for Porsche, Ferrari,Corvette etc. under the new name Saratoga Technologies Inc..
All the tooling/molds for the X1/9 were left behind in Clifton Park and destroyed so never made the move to North Carolina.
There were not enough sales or interest for Saratoga Technologies to make tops for the X1/9 they said.
Many peeps contacted them to make another run and they always declined.
Company still lives on today in Phoenix,Arizona called Ameripol making stuff for the Del Sol & Corvette.
The 1 of 1 Saratoga top I have was from the original owner of S-Top in Clifton Park.
It was made for his personal X1/9 and was going to be made into a small run but that was squashed when the company moved to NC.
