I'm pretty sure I know the answer, But......

Is it possible to swap a late interior.... 79' into an early 74'/75'???

I would like to use my pristine 79' dash in an early chassis... I don't see the issue as all the chassis dimensions appear be the same... Mount points maybe a tad different on the early chassis, but fittiment should be the same.... Am I missing something?

I think the metal behind the console is different.

Google Lalo x1/9 dash

He did it back in the Nineties. From Mirafiori:

Chris-

I've done the opposite swap. I put an '84 dash into a '74
chassis. The problems you will run into are various. Here's
the big ones:

ONE: the actual mounting points are different between the
dashboards. The solution is rivet-nuts, NOT sheetmetal screws.
TWO: the center console of the later cars is WIDER by about two
inches. Do the job right, weld in the center console structure
of an earlier car. Note that the heater controls are also
contained in the center console on the earlier cars.
THREE: you cannot simply plug your switches into your existing
harness. Some modifications are required to make your later
harness fit the old style switches. Also, if you want the
switches to be lit up at night you'll need the old style
fiber-optic cables.
FOUR: not sure about heater box, I changed to the '84 heater
box so I don't know off hand if you can easily make the control
cables work with the early center console mounted levers. I do
know that the ducting for the center heater vents is different,
so that will need to be modified. Get the '74 ducts and I think
they'll bolt right onto the heater box.
FIVE: to make tour side vents work you'll need the little rubber
tubes that came with the early dash.
SIX: Where you gonna put the glove box??????

You're asking for a sh*t load of work to do the job right. Is
it worth it??...

Yes, doable

Other than the center console issues listed you'll also have to apply the big hammer to the metal dash ledge on either side, under the vents, in order to get the late model side vents to fit. It's no hard to do and it looks pretty much like what Fiat did to get the late dash in.
It's really not all that difficult to do, but it's not a bolt in.

Dash....

So.... Since I have the 79' down to the bone... I'm sure it won't take much once I have the 75' down to the bone to compare the two layouts... Looks like the biggest issue was the ignition switch... I've got the whole steering column that came out of the 79' to put into the 75'... So... This really is a non issue... Anyway... We shall see...

late interior in early car

way doable. both my 74's have late 79-83 interiors in them. biggest problem is the center console sheet metal that needs to have the inner sides flattened to accommodate the wider console. the difference in the dash design is there are only bolts going down into the flat of the sheet metal as opposed to the later dashes which had bolts also in the firewall. the later dashes were a little front heavy as they "hung" out further. all the other doo-daa's is a simple r & r.
